A Practical Program for Guaranteeing Corporate Overlordship

“And wage slaves, obey your corporate masters with fear and respect, giving up your right to organize and negotiate. Submit yourselves to them not only to move up on the ladder of meritocracy, but obey the laws of Big Business just as you were loving god.

And corporate overlords, be mindful to undermine any call for economic justice, and remain diligent in firing black people first, and hiring them last.”– A modern day CEO’s reading of Ephesians 6:6-9

Yesterday, Mitchell suggested A Practical Program of Disenfranchisement: A 10 Step Plan to Save American Democracy By Dismantling it.

Among the people who should not be allowed to vote, for Mitchell: “Government employees”; “Those who do not pay taxes. If you do not pay taxes, or if your unemployment benefits or government aid or earned payincome credit or other need-based government aid outweigh the amount of taxes you pay, you have no right to have access to government violence against those who do pay taxes”; and most importantly, “People with children in public schools. People with children in the public schools have chosen not to take personal responsibility for the education of their own children, and instead have handed them over to the care of the taxpayer, at a cost of $10,000 per child”

I say that Mitchell did not go far enough; I would like to include an additional 10:

1. People who receive Social Security, Medicare or Medicare/ Obviously, these people are the bane our existence, and God Himself disapproves of all public resources for helping the poor.

2. People who send their children to private and charter schools, which depend upon subsidies, city-wide lotteries, and tax breaks for their schools. The free market should be free. This government interference is uncalled for, and breaks all of God’s laws.

3. Any employee of a bank that received money from the federal government bailouts. Don’t really have to explain that one.

4. Farmers in Minnesota and Iowa who have their crops subsidized by the federal government. This is a form of socialism and should be repealed.

5. The millions of students who owe the federal government (no longer private banks) a gross amount of their income in student loans. If you can’t afford to go to college, do not go! And dismantle the Department of Education. Enough is enough.

6. All prison employees who work with death row on the federal level.

7. All citizens of the United States who currently do not live in a border state. You don’t know what it’s like to deal with immigration politics and populations, so you shouldn’t have a vote in the matter.

8. Big time millionaires like Jerry Jones who raise a city’s taxes just so they can have a private enterprise like a football stadium on the backs of the poor.

9. NBA Commissioner David Stern.

10. The biggest recipients of government welfare: our nation’s veterans and soldiers. Let’s get rid of all of those G.I. Bills, return to the military draft, and pay our Armed Forces minimum wage, which there wouldn’t be any since all minimum wage laws would be stripped from our law books. No health benefits, no free college education. Just a pay check, and our love.

Sunday Funnies: My Case to For Me Winning a Badge of Honor

This week at The Gossip Coalition and Reclaiming White Fundamentalism, a few of my comments/links were moderated and banned.

I suppose if I was leveling insults and being rude, it would be called for. However, I think it had more to do with Neo-Calvinists and their inability to be self-critical. My comments that threatened the entire worldview for these folks included (paraphrased),

“At the blog you referred to on comment 14, Joel is actually a Methodist, and Jeremy is Catholic.”

Or the ever faith-denying statement,

“I can’t wait for the stoning to take place. I really don’t think Tim Tebow is teaching some form of prosperity gospel.”

And with that, I think I should win an award for being so brave. Right, Craig?

I consider it victory to be blocked by both blogs. Means I am doing something right.

:-)

Sunday Funnies: Glenn Beck Denounces Latest Scientific Research on Polar Bears

AP News-

Following his tirade against the new Ultimate Spider-man, Glenn Beck then continued to promote his traditional values by going after the announcement from a group of zoologists Tuesday, confirming our beliefs that Polar Bears are really black underneath. Beck, from his radio show,
“I don’t care what the scientists say. Polar bears are white because snow is white. Snow is in the north pole, and polar bears only live in the north pole and therefore, logically, polar bears are white! What are they saying, that every white person is black on the inside, white on the outside, sorta like rapper Eminem? Oh please, give me a break. This is exactly what they (the Obamas) meant when they said we need to radically transform our values. [plays audio of a random campaign speech from 2008]”

Sunday Funnies: Rap Group Public Enemy Sues President, Congress over Debt Ceiling Deal

Washington, D.C.-

The 1990s iconic hip hop artists Public Enemy has filed a law suit with the Supreme Court of the United States, alleging copyright infringement by President Barack Obama and Congressional leaders. Chuck D commented, “This debt ceiling deal violates our exclusive rights to raising the roof. Raise the roof because it’s all on fire. Not done by the sun or electrical wire.” When asked about the pending lawsuit, the President’s spokesman, Jay Carney declined to comment. Flava Flav added, “When we rolled into Capitol Hill, we was like, ‘we need to talk to the Speaker of the Hizzouse,’ but all they kept leading us to was this dude look like the Kool-Aid man, only he was orange. Did they change the Kool-Aid man’s flava or somethin’? Flava Flav!!!!!”

A Few Mild Observations about the Deficit Talks

I’ll have to admit. I tried to avoid the train-wreck that was the Casey Anthony trial, especially since I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of the media, populace, and politicians showing more enthusiasm for capital punishment than any other issue.

The one soap opera that has gotten my attention, admittedly, are the current “discussions” going on about the raising of the debt ceiling. I could get all Christianly and say, well these talks just prove how hopelessly divided we are, yada yada, and how debates centering around OUR TAX DOLLARS are moral issues.

However, it’s already been said. So, here are some random thoughts about what is going on.

1. I side with the libertarian/independents/Tea party side of this debate, when it comes to a Balanced Budget Amendment. Deficit spending means sacrificing our future on the alter of the present.

That being said:

2. I do not believe that tax cuts work. In fact, on this point, I think that the Grand Ole Party is playing class warfare against the working class. It seems to me that it would behoove the Tax Cutting Warhawks to prove that corporations and individuals not have the potential to create jobs, but in fact, we need to see evidence that THEY ARE creating jobs, like in the here and now. I have not seen any evidence that when the Bush tax cuts were extended, there were more jobs being created. What excessive tax cutters really want is a government that favors the producers of society, in opposition to the Democratic party which favors labor. From a libertarian perspective, hey, here is an idea: no one receives any favors! Sound good, huh?

I would support tax raises, if I got guarantees they would go towards reducing the deficit, balancing the budget.

3. Speaker of the House John Boehner (OH) keeps talking about entitlement reform. What this is code for is “waging war on the working poor,” plain and simple. The funny thing is that President Obama has beaten Boehner to the punch: The President’s healthcare reform means cuts to medicare, and against the best interest of our senior citizens.

4. Lastly, the scariest development out of this whole debate recently is the idea that President Obama can unilaterally raise the debt ceiling on his own through the use of the 14th Amendment. Joel apparently supports the imperial presidency. I don’t on any level. It’s time for a prime minister. I get disgusted at how much power the executive has taken for himself over the past thirty years, with no one willing to check them. That’s why we are stuck in Libya right now. And Iraq. And Afghanistan. And Pakistan.
