Sunday Funnies: Accepting Jesus As SITH Lord

The Letter of James McGrath on Star Wars:

“Those who live by the light saber shall die by the light saber”

and the Gospel according to Chancellor Palpatine:

“If one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects, not just the dogmatic, narrow view of the Jedi. If you wish to become a complete and wise leader, you must embrace a larger view of the Force.”

The other day, James McGrath shared some images of Jesus as a Jedi. As someone who turns his nose at most of the Jedi philosophy, especially its annoying Jedi Code, I like to imagine the famous pictures of white Jesus as a Sith Lord.

Jesus as Darth Vader has to be one of my favorites, since Darth is my favorite Star Wars actor (and no, not Anakin, or any of the Whiney-Sky Walkers). Darth Vader is a monstrosity, who wields the force while also experiencing redemption at the conclusion of the trilogy.

Don’t think that Jesus spoke in absolutes? A lot of the time, he did! Like in Matthew 25, our Sith Lord and Savior said he would separate theĀ sheep Wookies from theĀ goats Tusken Raiders.

“I come not to bring peace, but a light saber!”-Darth Jesus, Matthew 10:34, The Star Wars Version Bible

  3. Easy to rebut. “Only a sith deals in absolutes” is either an absolute statement in itself, which renders it hypocriticals; or it is not an absolute statement, which means that not only siths deal in absolutes.
