Quip of the Day: THE Final Interpretation

I found this quote from Walter Brueggeman’s An Unsettling God to be quite poignant.

It is clear in any case that the ‘final interpretation’ is a step toward ‘final solution.’

    I was thinking the same thing this morning. It makes me want to be angry at others, but upon inspection, it makes me sober of my own anger toward ‘them’.

    A heplful question to those outside the academy: Where does that leave truth? Is truth plural and we all hold a part and are blessed in so doing? Is truth so rich and nuanced that we can have a completely different emphasis for our own contemporary problems as we teach our kids to be just creative?
