Quip of the Day: Save NPR?

Politically speaking, I am more of a left-libertarian leaning federalist, meaning I believe that it is the federal government’s responsibility to limit itself as the people (the voters) work to limit its scope as well, rather than the states.

Perhaps one of the most irritating debates going on since I was a freshman in high school is the movement to defund PBS and NPR. Back then, I was on one side (against defunding) while today I lean the other way even though I am apathetic about this debate. Seriously, we are fighting over reruns of Arthur?

Anyways, I have a solution. Perhaps the federal government should just dismantle the Corporation for Public Broadcasting altogether and pay the United Kingdom to allow every American household free access to BBC America. I think we would all be happier.

Especially me. I love Doctor Who and Merlin.
