As I said on Dru’s blog, I think it depends on what is being addressed, but I really did like the line where he wrote, “…it is a modernist bias to think that a scholarly interpretation trumps the emotional and intuitive response of uneducated and marginalized people.” Great insight there.
Definitely, Dru argument has its appeal.

I would rather read, listen to, and talk with N.T. Wright. In short, I like him better. Nevertheless, I cannot escape from a point that Hart makes about theology being inherently better when done by people who emotionally connect with it from the margins. I suppose Cone once fit that bill. I am not so sure that he is marginalized so much anymore though.
Au contraire, Optymyst. Cone still remains marginalized in the sense of race; class, however, no.
How about both and… or is Manicheanism being brought back into the church fold?
