Discipleship Experiment Update- Rod

Last month, I began my personal political-spiritual journey to join Chad in his discipleship experiment. Here is an update.

Additions:

1. “Try to begin the day at least by reading the My Daily Bread Devotional & the recommended chapters for that day.”

For the most part, I have been good about this, even blogging on one of the meditations (which are more theological conservative than I am). This week, I have missed a couple of days, but I did read today’s reading.  No wonder I had such a wonderful day. :-)

2. “Monastic Mondays:”  Monastic Mondays have been great. This Monday, I took to do some other work, but next Monday, I will return to it. I just can’t decide which book to finish however.

3. “1 day a week to clean”: So good so far. I need to clean the living room this weekend, but because of my badly sprained ankle I occurred over a week ago, I’m sort of limited. But I’ll do my best.

4. “Shopping at Aldi“: Yup. No problems there. Love my options, especially all the healthy food choices.

5. “Positive approach to black culture, including films”: Actually, yes I have. I have not tweeted a negative or critical thing about black culture, even though I was tempted to last weekend. I have even took the time to watch movies like “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins” and the American version of “Death at a Funeral.”

Subtractions:

1. Television. Teehee, let’s not go there. I blame you, Being Human (USA version) and Fairly Legal. Argh!

2. Political Inhospitality. Check–I had a major disagreement with a friend on facebook, and it took a while before we realized that we did not understand each others’ experience, and thus misjudge each other. It was a good moment.  And I only post positive things about what I agree with.

3. Procrastination?: Check Craig’s blog for the first 2 parts: ONE and Part TWO what I plan to be a 5 part series, dismantling the Just War Theory. I promised Craig this back in November.

I think you mean dismantling BCT’s twisted Just War Theory. ;)
