More Green Lantern Goodies – updated

The official trailer for the Green Lantern movie hit the web last night. Check it out here! Entertainment Tonight really did everyone a disservice by releasing a very bad quality, re-cut version of it last week. The official trailer looks amazing. There is still some CGI work to be done, but they have 6 months of post-production left to do it. Very excited.

Update: here is a pic of Sinestro (Hal’s mentor, and…. spoiler space for those who live under a rock……future big bad). How awesome is this!?

Update: Kilowog and Hal!

A special treat for all of you Political Jesus fans is this. This is the crowd scene near the end of the trailer, and thanks to a keen eyed buddy of mine, he was able to pick me out of the crowd. How awesome is that?!?! I was paid $80 to be running person #2814.

In other Green Lantern and church related news, this is from the twitter feed of Geoff Johns, the Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment and the current (and most amazing) writer of Green Lantern comics:

The one thing I don’t like is maple syrup! RT @nerdlunch I know you rarely answer fans, but which do you like better, waffles or pancakes?

Maple syrup is basically tree blood. Plus it reminds me of Sunday mornings and my parents making me wear a mini suit to church.

And at church we had these huge pancake breakfasts with this watered down syrup and Tang.

That’s the secret origin of why I love cereal so much.
.
So for God’s sake people,
A) don’t make your kids dress up so nice to go to church
B) If you are going to have meals at church, make them good meals
C) Oh, Geoff, the maple syrup isn’t the only thing watered down in some churches, lol.
D) Tang is still better than the kool-aid Rodney is always talking about.

Ha! Running person #2814! Love it!

    Chad,

Is Geoff Johns a Christian? Man I am way behind in my DC comics.

I don’t know of anywhere where he directly addressed this question. There are certainly a ton of spiritual themes in the Green Lantern mythos, especially regarding the “white light of creation” that is central to the GL stories at the moment. Also, he is well known as one of the nicest, most admired guys in the industry.

  4. What sector were all of the other running people from?
