Breaking News: Longhorns say no to the Pac-16

Sad news for the Pac-10. Texas said no. Oh well, all’s well that ends, well. Epic. Fail.

I never quite understood what would give the Pac-10 the upperhand in the first place. We are talking about a conference that has been surpassed by the Mountain West in every which way, and the USC Trojans are headed for a fall.  Yeah. 2013, we may get our automatic bid yet; if Utah stays.

Oh, and did I mention that TCU made the college world series? But I forgot the name of that team they eliminated…..

I have mixed feelings. I want the college landscape to change, so I was hoping the Big XII would fall. BUT, I certainly hate other conferences more than the Big XII (namely the Pac-Suck and Big (pre)Ten(d). I never thought, though, that it made any sense geographically for all the Big XII schools to head to the Pac-10. How many fans want to make the trip to Oregon State or Washington to see their relatives play the Beavers at Softball or the Huskies at Basketball? That would be tough.

Long live the SEC! Long live the Mountain West!
