Jodi Magness Takes on Robert Cargill!

Brite Divinity School has announced a one day, two-event conversation with  Jodi Magness the Kenan Distinguished Professor for Teaching Excellence in Early Judaism at the University of North Carolina’s Religious Studies department.

The first part of her discussion should be pretty interesting as she will make some observations about a biblioblogger, Robert Cargill and his Digital Qumran Project. That will be at 11am as a Community Conversation. I hope to attend and take notes. Here is the Flyer for the event.

Later that night, at 7:00pm, Magness will give a lecture on the Dead Sea Scrolls. Unfortunately, i cannot make the lecture because I have a course on Michel Foucault that lasts until about 8:00pm. Here is the Flyer for this event.

I hope to add some further commentary about Magness’ work early next week.
