Idols do not speak, YHWH does. He walks, He COMMUNICATES, we can have a relationship with Him. Worship the Creator himself and not the creature. Bible assumes the world is pagan. (Deuteronomy 7:1-11; 30:15-20);Prophets’ job entails smashing idols, Gideon, Elijah, Jesus.
Jeremiah 1:5, 9-12
The call God’s CHOICE of Jerry to bear God’s Word. Prophet to the nations. God chooses individuals, to change the course of history, the ways of the nations. Creator controls history thru his choosing of human beings, election, Jeremiah is chosen to be a watchman, to call Israel back to obedience, as God had originally intended. Just as Jacob (Israel) is called to be a light to the nations, a blessing Amos 3:2, Genesis 18:18-19. God chose Jacob, like Jeremiah, in the womb. Genesis 25:23. Romans 9-11.
Jeremiah 33:23-26
1 nation, 2 families under the covenant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Just as God has a relationship with humanity, He has a specific relationship with creation (COVENANT). It is called the created order. Genesis 15:1-5; 8:22. Creator acts because He is committed to Israel.
